Over the years, volunteers have come together in various cities to cook and serve meals with love. Seva Cafe was first run in Bangalore on December 2, 2012 at the Vriksh Restaurant in Yelahanka New Town.
Since then, it has been widely reported in the media — from the Times of India to The Hindu to Time Out Bengaluru — spreading the message that a different kind of economy is possible.
